The SS18 Trends & Colours Revealed
The SS18 collections have something for every retailer and buyers can expect to be inspired by an abundance of print, colour and texture at the show this August. Read on for an overview of the key colours & trends and don't forget to register today!
Kinship.
Exploring the layered cultural influences resulting from globalisation, Kinship incorporates eclectic and boho elements. Islamic arabesques inspire print & pattern, nautical styles are reinterpreted with rope-like detailing and rodeo styling introduces tassels & floral applique.
Slow Futures.
Slow Futures explores the virtues of the past, the quiet and the slow. Traditional silhouettes are revisited and pared back for contemporary appeal and simple shapes put a focus on unusual details and textures. Architectural outlines and utility-inspired elements are prevalent, 'negative space' is explored with bold and abstract cut-outs and patterns and textures are inspired by earthy terrain.
Youth Tonic.
Youth Tonic embodies the exuberance of youth but the theme also appeals to older consumers in a market where age distinctions are increasingly less defined. Designs are cheeky and playful with a nod to 90's clubwear and quirky and political messages, slogans and statements appear throughout.
Pyschotropical.
Through the Psychotropical aesthetic, luxury is defined by exotic prints and glossy synthetic materials, colours are intense and contrasting and motifs are rich and iridescent. Embroideries are especially important in swimwear with botanical motifs layered onto prints.
